Next in the line of simple beauty posts for busy parents is a hair product – Argan Oil.
For those of you who know me, you will know that I am cursed with an extremely frizzy barnet. I have a small afro, which if left unattended sadly makes me look like I have been dragged through a bush backwards on a high humidity day.
Unfortunately for him, my little lad seems to have inherited my hair! See below
Actually calling that mess of hair above an afro is an insult to people with gorgeous afro’s, so lets just call it ‘the mess’
I am not a great ‘hair styler’, but once I discovered hair straighteners (around the age of 16) I moved from the mess look to the straight hair with multiple spilt ends look. I do keep a look out for products which can assist with just making my hair look a that little bit more healthy than it is and recently discovered Argan Oil.
‘Its been around for ages’ I hear you cry. Yes that is right, but has it always been 99p in Primark?! No!
So I splashed out and I must say I am very happy with the results. For an oil;
You need a tiny amount which you can rub into wet or dry hair. I use it regularly now, on both the mess and the straight hair and wouldn’t look back.
Thank you Morocco for sharing your oil with us.
Love Argan oil! And I totally know what you mean by “straight hair with split ends look”, haha I had that for some time too!
How did you stop having the spilt end look?! Thank you for reading and commenting.
I stopped straightening my hair as much – also when I do it I don’t go all the way down, I stop like a cm before the ends.
That’s a really good tip, there isn’t really any need to go right to the ends. I’m making an effort to leave mine ‘curly’ more often.
Right! Am getting this – very useful!!! x
Oh, Yes do!
However, on a recent visit to Primark I noticed that the price has increased to £2.50! Still a bargain but not 99p anymore. I think Primark is getting a bit above its station! 🙂
This sounds great, I too am cursed with frizzy hair (and it looks like I may have passed it onto my children!) – thanks for sharing! #PoCoLo
Yes! Sadly me little man never stood a chance! Thanks for commenting #PoCoLo
Hi, just popped over from PoCoLo! I’ve battled the frizz for years too, and love Argan Oil – and have recently discovered Macadamia nut oil too – you can buy it from Amazon, and I’ve found it in TK Maxx too. It’s a great way to keep your curls and not have the electrocuted look! I have to confess though that I went for one of those Groupon offers and did the Brazilian keratin treatment – gone are the frizzies, but also gone are my curls!
I will definitely try the Macadamia oil, loving the oils at the moment. I have never been brave enough to do the Keratin treatment. So they do really work? How long for, do you know? x
you are my hero!! i suffer with thick course hair and i am desperate to find something that works. I am off into town tomorrow (primark actually) so will see if I can get my hands on this!
Oh yes do! The price has increased to £2.50 now! Primark is on the up 🙂 I know you always want what you don’t have but I would kill for thick hair! x
How good is that?!! Primark are such a godsend sometimes – as is this oil by the looks of things. I am definitely trying this :). Thanks for linking up for some #PoCoLo xx
Thanks for taking the time to visit and comment Victoria #PoCoLo
Wow,thank you for this 🙂 I have so much hair I often joke I should sell it for wigs! I’m off to Primark hopefully next week so I will grab some of this. Spreading the #PoCoLo
I’ll buy some of your hair! I am losing mine at a rapid rate! Thanks for commenting x #PoCoLo
Weirdly I just tried this for the first time yesterday! It does smell lovely and I think it’s made my hair softer – I’ll try (almost) anything to beat the frizz. Just found you on #PoCoLo x
Me too! Please do keep me informed of any frizz fighting products you come across! x #PoCoLo
I can’t believe Argan oil is only 99p in Primark. My hair is poker straight, but it’s hugely thick and I’ve used Argan oil on it, it works much better than conditioner at making it healthy and shiny looking. A trip to Primark is in order
It has actually gone up to £2.50! But still a bargain! Thank you for reading and commenting x
