….the choice is yours!
As many of you will be aware, I am getting married this year. So imagine my joy when I was offered the chance to review some wedding invitations. I took it as a sign and good place to start with my own wedding planning.
The company is Paper Themes, a lovely company who make bespoke wedding stationary. Now I am entering into a world that is completely new to me and not one I plan to enter into again once this wedding is over, so I speak with no authority other then I like things that look nice. And are easy to use. The Paper Themes website ticks both these boxes.
We chose 3 designs from the Vintage and Contemporary range of wedding invitations. That process was tricky itself, I loved loads of them.
Vintage
Vintage Floral Wreath Wedding Invitations
The Vintage Floral Wreath invite is lovely. Two sided and simple with gorgeous reds making up the flowers. Not a manly invite! The front simply has the names of the Bride and Groom and the wedding date, surrounded by the flowers. The personalised wedding details are on the back.
They are printed on a slightly textured card and are great quality. The price per invitation is £1.40, so not cheap, but that does include the envelope.
Old, New, Borrowed, Blue Wedding Invitations
Slightly smaller then all of the other invites, these are printed on smooth card though they can look textured in the photos.
Two sided, the personalised wedding details on the back side. The font is a sepia colour.
These invitations are also priced at £1.40 per invitation, again with envelopes.
Mint, Eat, Drink & Be Married Wedding Invitations
Certainly the most ‘extravagant’ of the invites that we reviewed. The cards and ribbon come as a pack and can be self assembled or, if you are feeling lazy, Paper Theme can do it for you. They are printed on smooth card.
These invites do not come cheap. They are also the most expensive of the invitations we reviewed and may be suited to a smaller wedding as 20 of these babies would cost you £78.00. However, you get what you pay for and I am pretty sure that guests would remember receiving these.
Contemporary
Deco Wedding Invitations
Art Deco style invitation. A one sided, what hey call a postcard invite, with clear presentation of the wedding information. The mint green is gorgeous and looks really striking against the black.
The invitation is printed on a textured card, more professional called, ‘Buckingham Felt board’.
These would appeal to men and women alike. My other half liked these.
£1.25 each with envelopes.
Large Type Wedding Invitations
Very modern postcard invite on plan white card. Simple with just the information you need. I have to admit, I like this. It is easy to fall into the trap of writing too much and over complicating the invites. These force you to keep it simple.
A unisex invite one could say. Priced again at £1.25 an invite with envelopes.
Wedding Wedding Invites
I end on my personal favourites. No mistaking what you are being invited to with these invites!
They are simple but eye catching and with great colours. One sided postcard style on plain white.
No messing.
At £1.25 an invite, 20 invites will set you back £25.00.
I sincerely hope that my little review might one day help an indecisive bride like myself! The invitations are not the cheapest but if you have a small budget for invitations then I would absolutely check out the Paper Themes website. They had a great sale on when I first started looking so keep your eye out for a bargain to.
Just need to get my own invites sorted now………hummm, now which ones?!
Note – I was sent these invitations for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own.
