2014.
It is nearly upon us.
No more procrastinating about what needs to be done.
It is time to do it.
I found this and felt that it really summed me up!
I am a great worrier, I like to get extremely stressed over things that have yet to happen, and likely (hopefully in some cases) won’t happen. I am the eternal pessimist, and this is something that I intend to work very hard to change in 2014. I want to learn to be more like my care-free husband, who could be in the middle of the desert with no water, and still be optimistic and fun. Don’t get me wrong – this can be annoying at times (!), but I think that there is a balance to be found!
In addition to be more positive, living more ‘in the now’ and of course being the best mum I can be, I vow to:
1) Reply to people’s text messages in a timely manner and call people back when I say I will. I understand that “I’ll call you back in 5 minutes”, doesn’t mean “5 days”;
2) Limit my caffeine intake to less then 5 cups a day. Recently discovering that caffeine increases cellulite will make this a bit easier!;
3) Get better at walking in high heels. I have mastered this when under the influence of alcohol but am yet to master it sober. 🙂 I will practice more and allow more time for my journeys;
4) Get better at building ‘train track’. B’s favourite past time is his train track. Having acquired loads of new track for christmas, including bridges and a round house, I vow to be more creative with building the track and not to get stressed when I can’t make the ends meet;
5) Obviously exercise more. No New Year would be complete without this resolution;
And finally,
6) Enjoy my family. Laugh, live and love my boys, the big one and the little one everyday. It is important to never forget how lucky we are.
Roll on 2014. I am ready for you!
