For a little boy who LOVES, I repeat LOVES, farms, this game was a gift from above.
He took one look at the box and was grinning from ear to ear. This is a winner, I thought to myself. And to be fair, it was.
The only problem for us was that Baby B at 31 months old, was just a couple of months too young for it. Often he will easily complete a puzzle which is for 3+, as I stand proudly by watching my little genius in action, whilst filling in his Mensa enrolment form! In this case, his inability to share, combined with a lack of a concentration span and not really grasping the concept of snap, meant that he didn’t want to hand me over the pieces when I had won them fair and square.
However, what he did enjoy immensely, was grouping the animals up and spending considerable time arranging all of the pieces into very neat lines.
We love Orchard Toy’s range of puzzle and games. All are bright and vibrant and very pleasing on the eye. In this case, the farm snap cards were no different. Eye catching, engaging and sturdy.
We liked it so much in fact, that it was one of the few things that we packed to take with us on our recent holiday to Sri Lanka (thought I should state that, just in case you all thought we lived in a mansion with a swimming pool, which we sadly don’t!).
This game is most definitely a keeper and I honestly look forward to playing it with him when he gets that he has to shout snap when two matching cards reveal themselves, not in the middle of the shopping centre later on in the day!
