I sit writing this whilst nursing a strong black coffee (5.50am start!) chuckling to myself at the way the toddler woke me up at 6am yesterday morning.
Incorporated into my dream was the sound of a helicopter ‘thwap thwap thwap thwap’ or however one would write it. I wasn’t sure how a helicopter had found it’s way into my dream, about meeting up with an old boss, but there it was all the same.
That is until I was suddenly woken by something ‘touching down’ on my forehead. As I shot open my eyes ready to bat off, the obviously enormous creature that was clearly attempting to get into my mouth, (I have an ongoing fear about spiders climbing into my mouth when I am asleep), I was met with this.
My little boy ‘flying’ his toy helicopter at the side of the bed.
“The helicopter landed on you mumma” where his very matter of fact opening words. I was grateful that the explanation was offered so quickly, therefore dispelling my spider related fears!
Thankfully his beautiful face and silly hair always wins me round and I can see the funny side relatively quickly. He went on to tickle his sleeping fathers feet continually until he woke up, so actually I got off lightly.
Other wake up calls of late include:
Toddlers hey. You’ve got to love them!
