Have you been through this phase with your toddlers?
You know the phases where you get ‘Mumma watch this’ to turn round to see your child jump on he spot, pull a funny face or perhaps balance on one leg.
It is extremely sweet but at the same time rather exhausting. “Mumma, watch this”, “Mumma look at this”, Mumma, watch me” “Mumma, look at me”. See, tiring isn’t it!
They know when you aren’t really watching. When your response of ‘Yes, darling, thats wonderful’ isn’t heartfelt or real.
They do not appreciate it when you to try fob them off with a ‘Wow, that’s great’ when actually you are flicking through Twitter on your phone. As I type this my little man is pretending to be Spiderman, “Mumma look at my web”, “Mumma look at my cape”.
It isn’t wrong to find it tiring at times or have a little moan about it but you know what, I am so lucky that he can even say those things and so lucky that he wants to share these things with me.
So on that note, little rant over, I am off to marvel at his fake super powers!
