Winter Fashion Staples

It has been a little while since I have indulged myself with any purchases, so my most recent ‘spree’ was extra special. Not to mention completely required, everyone needs some new winter fashion staples as the colder months draw in.

The spree took place whilst on a recent holiday in Spain. It’s easy when shopping on holiday to get carried away with the holiday vibe and buy a load of sun hats, maxi dresses and strapless tops. None of which will be any use, the minute you land at Gatwick. So I was sensible and purchased some winter essentials which I must say I am rather proud of. So much so, I thought I would share them with you.

I am not the most colourful dresser, preferring where possible to play it safe in greys, white, navy and of course, every ones friend, black.

However, I’ve branched out this winter:

A winter hat. I have never owned a proper hat before, excluding my copious amount of Lucky Seven Caps. But feeling brave I went for this gorgeous grey trilby with a brown trim. I figure it will be a lifesaver on a damp winters day and a hat that I can team with a smarter outfit for winter dinners.

A statement cardigan/wrap. Now I am no Gok, but these appear to all the rage. Bright, bold, versatile and on hand to brighten up a winters day. This is brave for me but I fell in love with it.

Long skirt. Great for days when you don’t fancy wearing jeans. I have a slight obsession with stripes. I am just drawn to them and I love this. Plain white top, skirt, converse and a jacket. Day outfit sorted.

Good size, neutral colour handbag. Any handbag of mine must fit a laptop in. Not happy with just lugging the normal crap on an average day, I enjoy breaking my back with my laptop so a handbag that accommodates it is essential. Love this suede bag from Zara.

Lovely jumper with a lovely saying. Baggy and comfortable. Just how I want my jumpers. A rainy day item if ever I have seen one.

A gorgeous statement necklace that can be worn with a smart outfit or used to smarten up a casual one. This was actually brought for me and I love it. I love that the rope is navy

So there you have it. My winter wardrobe essentials sorted. Just need to be brave now and wear the hat!

*please note, I am the least fashionable person I know, so if you don’t like the items above or they are a bit, last season, that is why!! But anyway, sod ya, I like them! 😉
