As we near the end of week two of the kitchen renovation I admit that I am starting to feel the strain! We haven’t eaten at the kitchen table for nearly two weeks with the husband and I doing our best Royal Family impression every evening sitting on the sofa with dinner on our laps. Well not literally on our laps but you get what I mean! Don’t get me wrong, I love a good meal in front of the TV but it’s normally a Chinese or indian takeaway, and not every night of the week!
The little man has been a super star. He has lost his play room to storage for tools and boxes and seems to have forgotten about his train track which can no longer be reached. (Obviously just as I typed that he said ‘Mumma where’s my train track’!)
Last night I washed his cups in the bath and made tea in the hallway. However, the new kitchen units and work tops were installed yesterday and I can see some faint light at the end of the tunnel.
This project has made me realise that we actually need very little in terms of kitchen stuff. We are surviving more than adequately with two pans, a couple of plates, a grater and some salt and pepper! Although, saying that the hubby may disagree as he likes to give every pot and pan an airing at the slight hint of cooking! ( Is that a man thing?)
I am really excited and hopeful that the kitchen is going to give us the drive we need to continue with improvements and work on the house. The arrival of the new AGA City 60 will certainly be a big driver. If you haven’t heard me harping on about the AGA then you have done well. I am taking my role as an #AGAambassdor very seriously and will soon be the proud owner of a Duck Egg Blue AGA, I honestly never thought that I could be so excited about an oven! A sign of the times perhaps.
NB – I am an AGA Ambassador but these posts are endorsed by AGA. I just want to write about it as I am excited! 🙂
