We had a lovely Christmas lunch at The Tate Modern last week. Our first festive lunch of the season, my first mouthful of Turkey in December.
It isn’t the first place you would think of for a Christmas meal but with a lovely Christmas market outside and a wonderful Christmas set menu on offer, it is one Christmassy place.
The food was delicious and very reasonably priced, with the option of a 2 or 3 course set menu. 2 courses for £20 and 3 for £25. The special Christmas menu runs from 1-23rd December.
Outside of Christmas, a big bonus for us is the relaxed atmosphere and family vibe. With a Toddler in tow we are always carful about where we eat out. It can’t be a quiet place or anywhere too upmarket. Let’s face it, Toddlers and restaurants don’t tend to mix well. We would really recommend the Càfe at the Tate Modern for a spot of lunch anytime of year
If you are considering visiting the South Bank before Christmas, do drop by the Tate Modern and the lovely Christmas market right outside. It is a very festive day out and there is plenty to do to keep the little ones occupied.
After lunch, whilst I nipped off to a meeting, Hubby walked the little man over Waterloo Bridge to see Bond in Motion at the London Film Museum. Another recommendation if you are in London and a fan of James Bond. Essentially all of the well known Bond vehicles under one roof. Well worth a visit. Husband had this snap done which I LOVE. Obviously I am completely biased but what a hunk….
