Never one to do things by halves, in an effort to make up for lost time (See previous post, Lacking Christmas Spirit here) the toddler and I visited two Santa’s in two days.
It raises many a question of course, Who are they? Where is the real Santa? And of course, the burning questions on everyones minds, Where do they sleep? and Who makes their dinner?
Clearly in the mind of our Toddler, there is some sort of Santa training camp hidden deep in the Surrey Hills where the Santa’s return to each night to get some rest and refuel for the next days activities. Makes sense.
Santa 1, was at Birdworld none the less. Birdworld itself looked a bit tired on a cold winters day but the grotto was well done. Santa was chatty and engaging. He remarked that B had grown since last year which was a nice touch and made a present drop out of his chimney which impressed B no end.
Santa 2, took things up a notch. This Santa sat in his own Crystal Grotto, at the stunning Painshill Park in Cobham, Surrey. No tacky plastic decorations at this grotto. Not needed when you are surrounded by natural beauty.
To get to the Grotto is a 10 minute walk through the gorgeous Painshill grounds, which on a crisp winters day like we had was amazing. B followed the Santa signs and excitedly lead the way.
Whilst you wait for an Elf to personally collect you and take you see Santa, each child is given an activity book and colours. Whilst hot drinks are available for parents. It is all very stress free and enjoyable. No waiting around in queues here.
B, confident from meeting another Santa the previous day, went straight in for a handshake and was happy to recount his list of required gifts to this very convincing looking Father Christmas.
The gift was also top draw, as I think B’s very happy face clearly states.
Thanks Santa’s, keep up the good work!
