Children’s Clothing with Base Fashion

At 3.5 years old, B has already begun stamping his mark on what he wears everyday. No one warned me toddlers have fashion sense! Or at least they think they do.

Obviously some mornings the dispute over ‘What I am wearing today Mumma’ ends in tears when I break the news to him that he can’t wear his Spidy costume, Batman mask and Hulk gloves to nursery. Other days he looks himself up and down in the mirror and declares that he looks ‘cool’!

He takes a genuine interest in new items. Shoes particularly seem to be of interest to him at the moment. As we are in winter, he is primarily in boots and trainers, with the Spidy wellington boots making an appearance in wet conditions.

However, I am currently dreaming of Summer and recently made the bold move of ordering a pair of sandals for him from Base Fashion. With a holiday in Spain to visit family never far from my mind, a pair of Birkenstock’s seemed a positive choice and something he would love come the warmer months. I just couldn’t bear the thought of more knitwear. Its time for some sun!

In hindsight it wasn’t the best idea I have ever had. He loves them and has worn them around the house pretty much everyday since they arrived. Problems arose when he began piecing together some rather questionable outfits and demanding he wears his new shoes out of the house despite the 3 degree weather. I forget that toddlers have no sense of waiting and certainly no understanding of seasons!

Base Fashion is an online clothing retailer with 6 stores across Essex, London, Kent and Sussex, catering for babies right up to teenagers. I ordered online and found the whole experience rather seamless and easy. The website is easy to navigate with clear options to narrow your search to age of child, specific brand or item of clothing.

Base Fashion stocks designer brands, which granted aren’t always everyday material but for the occasional treat and long wearing item they are brilliant. The prices are reasonable and keep a look out for the sales, as there are bargains to be had.

As a Londoner born and bred, I love the fact that Base is a family business originating from East London.
